Defund fascism. Fund abolition.
This isn't just a slogan—it’s a strategy for survival.
As repression intensifies, abolition must be more than a vision—it has to be practiced. That means building the material infrastructure our people need to survive, organize, and resist. It means mutual aid across walls, across crises, across attacks—and showing up for each other with strategy and care.
That’s why Critical Resistance is closing out June with a final call to help us meet our $21,100 midyear fundraising goal and fund abolitionist mutual aid in action.
Your gift powers mutual aid for abolition:
The Cross-Wall Strategy Retreat
This August, we’re bringing together imprisoned and outside organizers to strategize against repression. We’re sharing lessons, building plans, and coordinating action to make our movements stronger across walls. Support this historic convening by donating before July 5. Your donation supports participating organizations with travel, housing, food and more.
“We need to share our goals with one another, our strengths, our weaknesses—our values... TOGETHER we will get through these storms.”
— Kareem J Cobbins Sr,
imprisoned in Illinois
Every dollar helps fuel abolitionist strategy grounded in cross-wall organizing, political trust, and collective care. You don’t need to be in the room to have an impact—you can sponsor the work, uplift it, and help it grow.
The Zachary Project

One CR donor recently shared: “I support Critical Resistance because the abolitionist work they are doing is vital to securing true freedom for all our sisters and brothers...I hope that everyone reading this will choose to invest in our society today, because as the great Opal Lee stated, 'until we are all free, we are none of us free.'”
This month, we’re collecting messages from our donor community: Why do you fund abolition?
