Dear sir or madam,

Thank you for being part of the AEI community. Your interest in our work signals a shared commitment to the principles that define America’s promise: free enterprise, limited government, opportunity for all, and strong global leadership.

As a next step, we invite you to join us on this mission to drive policy and transform lives by supporting our best-in-class research.

For nearly a century, AEI scholars have guided America’s leaders and everyday citizens with bold and principled ideas. Today, as social divisions, economic uncertainty, and global threats test our nation’s resilience, AEI is meeting the moment with original and evidence-backed insights that are bearing real, tangible fruit.

DONATE TO AEI

AEI understands that America’s promise is greater than our politics—and we believe our nation’s potential is boundless when rooted in a healthy competition of ideas. With our signature mix of academic freedom and intellectual rigor, our scholars tackle today’s most pressing issues, including the following:

Promoting Free Trade. AEI’s Economic Policy Studies scholars are offering a firm defense of free markets while challenging America’s recent protectionist slide. This spring, scholars including AEI President Robert Doar, Kevin Corinth, Michael R. Strain, and Stan Veuger quickly took to the airwaves, playing a pivotal role in countering President Donald Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs. Their timely research and media appearances exposed how these measures could backfire, arguing instead for policies that fuel long-term growth and prosperity.

Strengthening National Defense and Our Allies. AEI’s Foreign and Defense Policy Studies scholars—including Dan Blumenthal, Hal Brands, Frederick W. Kagan, Danielle PletkaKori Schake, and Marc A. Thiessen—are defending America’s role as a force for freedom against rising authoritarianism from China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Notably, Thiessen’s early work on the US–Ukraine minerals deal has bolstered our ally while increasing America’s stake in a Ukrainian victory.

Celebrating the American Founding. Through AEI’s America at 250 initiative, our Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies scholars are equipping citizens with the intellectual resources to understand and advance our nation’s founding values for the 250th anniversary of American independence in 2026. Led by Yuval Levin, they are also addressing the root causes of America’s social malaise—including rising anxiety among youth, the extinction of human experiences, and the impact of political divides on personal relationships—offering solutions to rebuild community and meaning in our everyday lives.

Restoring Quality in Higher Education. AEI’s new Center for the Future of the American University, led by Benjamin Storey and Jenna Silber Storey, is pioneering education reforms to protect free expression, foster civic engagement, and prepare students for meaningful citizenship. In partnership with Johns Hopkins University, the Storeys are hosting events with leading academic voices, sparking a nationwide movement to cultivate civic-mindedness and intellectual curiosity on college campuses.
