Hi John,
Tonight’s a really important deadline for Politivist. It's our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline, and I’ve been taking time to reflect on what feels like a deeply unsettling moment. There’s so much at stake, and I wanted to share what’s really been on my mind.
As you know, last August, AIPAC megadonors spent millions to buy my seat in Congress. And they did it, not because I was ineffective, but because I was effective. Because I refused to be silent about the genocide in Palestine. Because I fought for housing, healthcare, climate justice, and peace.
This is why I started Politivist Action PAC: to build a coalition they can’t buy or silence. A coalition of organizers, truth-tellers, and champions for our families who are ready to take on Trump, his far-right extremist cronies in Congress, and the cowardly Democrats who cater to their megadonors and corporate PACs.
And here’s what gives me hope: Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York’s Mayoral Democratic Primary wasn’t a fluke; it was a sign. A sign that people are done playing nice while corporate power steals our future. We are wide awake, and we are organizing to win.
But if we want more victories like Mamdani’s, we need to build power now. Our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is at midnight. And we don’t have billionaire donors. We have you. Can I count on you to chip in before midnight to help us elect the next generation of progressive leaders?
