My heart aches as I write to you from New Orleans, the last stop of our Justice Journey through the country. We've witnessed firsthand the devastation wrought by Trump's ICE terror machine, right here in Louisiana's "detention alley." Workers like me from across the country have traveled here with three urgent demands:

Release our unjustly detained union siblings: Every day they spend in detention is a day too long, a day their families suffer without them.
End the terror of ICE raids: No more families ripped apart, no more communities living in fear.
Stop Trump’s cruel budget: The proposed budget pours billions into a system that brutalizes our neighbors while snatching away the very lifelines – SNAP and Medicaid – that keep so many afloat and alive. It's a profound betrayal of human decency.

Workers like our beloved union siblings Cliona and Lewelyn know this terror intimately. They were targeted and locked up by ICE. Many unjustly detained have witnessed and shared haunting stories of overcrowded cells, pleas for medical care denied, and dehumanizing conditions no one should ever endure.

They’re not alone in this nightmare. Across our nation, immigrant workers across the country are being snatched from job sites, torn from families and locked in private detention centers—all to profit billionaires and keep us divided. Too many people have died in ICE custody this year.

We won’t be frozen by fear. We won’t let billionaires pit us against each other, scapegoating immigrants for their own profit. We won’t sit by and watch.
