Friends,
Our coast is a part of this state's culture. It's one of the greatest natural resources that we have. It's a working coast that services the nation.
Unfortunately, our coast is losing ground. Every year, we lose over 20 square miles to the Gulf of Mexico. That makes us more vulnerable to rising sea levels and hurricanes. We're in a race against time to address this issue.
I'm proud that my administration has more ongoing coastal restoration projects than ever before. Just this year, we announced that we are investing more than $350 million in coastal restoration projects.
Protecting our coast is crucial and will remain a top priority for me if I am reelected. But my opponents are trying to spin my actions as too harmful to industry to be worthwhile.
They're wrong. We're taking a commonsense approach that allows both our energy sector and environment to thrive. If you agree that this is the right path forward for Louisiana, I hope you'll speak out by answering the question below. I need 10,000 responses by midnight.
Do you support protecting Louisiana's coast?
