In the wake of the third anniversary of the Dobbs decision, our 2025 Leadership Training Academy Fellows reflect on how abortion bans are reshaping their work — and what it will take to rebuild. In this new interview series, three physicians share powerful insights from the frontlines of reproductive health care and what a path toward restoration looks like in a post-Dobbs world.

"The Dobbs decision eroded my trust in America, yet throughout the last 3 years I’ve been amazed by the ingenuity and unyielding resilience of the reproductive health community, and it is those individuals who have kept me grounded and determined.”

Several PRH doctors spoke with TIME on the third anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs ruling. Drs. Stacy De-Lin, Danielle Gershon, Lou Rubino, and Leilah Zahedi-Spung describe the moral distress, legal obstacles, and climate of fear they face — alongside their patients and colleagues — when providing or even discussing abortion care in the wake of Dobbs. |
"I didn’t train to become a doctor to tell people I’m not able to help you.” - Dr. Stacy De-Lin |

To mark the Dobbs anniversary, PRH staff and board members joined the Abortion Access Now (AAN) campaign on Capitol Hill to meet with lawmakers and demand transformative change. Together, we’re pushing beyond the limitation of Roe — advocating for the most expansive abortion policies that center the people most harmed by abortion bans and systemic barriers.
AAN’s powerful vision includes: the right to abortion throughout pregnancy, expanded insurance coverage to eliminate cost barriers, and full access to care for immigrants. |
