Pride Month celebrates joy, resilience, and the deep care that
defines the LGBTQ+ community. But it’s also a chance to face the hard
truths that put them at risk.

Across the country, LGBTQ+ communities are facing a silent epidemic
of accidental fentanyl overdoses. In cities across the country, queer
and trans people have overdosed after unintentionally consuming
fentanyl-laced substances. In New York, two gay men — John Umberger
and Julio Ramirez — died after being drugged with fentanyl-tainted
drugs at nightclubs. These were not isolated events.

That’s why we're honored to uplift Kochina Rude — a drag performer
and harm reduction advocate who’s teaching people how to reverse an
overdose using naloxone (Narcan).

Every day in America, people are jailed without being convicted of a
crime — and the moment they’re behind bars, they lose their Medicaid
coverage. That includes access to lifesaving medications for
conditions like schizophrenia, and substance use disorder and more.

This happens because of a federal policy called the Medicaid Inmate
Exclusion Policy, and it’s putting thousands of vulnerable people at
risk — especially those jailed pretrial simply because they can’t
afford bail.

The Due Process Continuity of Care Act would fix this by ensuring
people maintain access to care while they await trial.

A couple of weeks ago, the Senate Finance Committee released their
version of the Big Billionaire Bill and it’s just as bad for green
energy (albeit slightly more flexible) as the original text from the
House. This bill proposes significant rollbacks to clean energy tax
credits and green infrastructure incentives — making things entirely
more complicated on the consumer end.

This updated version has caused much Congressional infighting,
potentially pushing back the alleged July 4th deadline. We must
capitalize on this moment by continuing to put the most pressure
possible on our elected officials. [ [link removed] ]Make your voices heard.
