Now that former national security advisor John Bolton has a book coming out that details (among other things) Trump’s fawning adoration for dictators, death threats against journalists, and failed attempts to prosecute his political opponents, Trump is trying to impugn Bolton’s credibility.
Despite being the man who hired him, Trump now claims Bolton is a “washed-up” hack who everyone at the White House hated. Trump has projected his own faults onto others before -- and now it seems like the president’s trademark character assassination is his only chance to save his own crumbling reputation.
