John,

The U.S. is the world's single largest plastic polluter. We're producing more than 35 million tons of plastic each year.[1,2]

It's a problem so big that it can sometimes feel hopeless. But at PIRG, we have a plan to turn the tide on plastic waste -- and we're already making progress.

PIRG's advocacy has helped drive real change, from state and local bag bans across the country to massive reductions in plastic use from companies like Amazon.[3,4]

We need your support to make our continued work possible, John. We don't take a cent from big corporations -- we count on supporters like you to fuel our work.

And right now, your donation can have double the impact. Give before midnight tonight, and generous donors will match your gift, up to $10,000 nationwide.

2025 End of Fiscal Year Drive Status

<strong>Goal: $25,000
Deadline: Midnight, June 30, 2025
Current Progress: 76% to goalCan you imagine what would happen if someone dumped a truckload of plastic in the middle of your neighborhood? Now, let's zoom out: the equivalent of 2,000 truckloads of plastic are dumped into the ocean every day.[1]

With waste mounting like this, we know that plastic pollution won't fix itself.

But when people like you participate in our work to move beyond plastics, here's what we're able to achieve:

* We win legislation: More than a third of Americans live in a state with restrictions on at least one kind of plastic thanks, in no small part, to the support of our members.[2]

* We get cleaner communities: Together, we're cracking down on the pervasive pollution of plastic pellets (or "nurdles"). We recently helped organize hundreds of volunteers across five continents to find tens of thousands of these pellets.

* We convince corporations to do better: We're raising our voices and calling on companies like Amazon to cut plastic packaging -- and we're seeing results. After PIRG delivered more than 138,000 petition signatures, Amazon committed to phasing out plastic air pillows in North America.[3]

These achievements aren't ours -- they belong to supporters like you, John. Will you keep working with us to move beyond plastics?

If you donate before midnight tonight, generous donors will match your gift, dollar for dollar -- doubling your impact, up to $10,000 nationwide.

Plastic pollution is pervasive. It's in our oceans, our neighborhoods, even in the food we eat. Every pellet, bottle, and bag takes centuries to break down.

Right now, plastic is everywhere, but so is our power to stop it.

When we come together, we can push back against the tide of plastic pollution. With members like you, we demand -- and win -- better communities, plastic commitments, and policies to reduce single-use plastics.

Will you continue the work to move beyond plastics with us? Give a matched donation to our 2025 End of Fiscal Year Drive before midnight tonight.
