Illegal Population Down Since January ([link removed])
Government data suggests the number of illegal immigrants may have fallen by 1 million ([link removed])
By Steven A. Camarota and Karen Zeigler, June 19, 2025
Summary: New analysis shows a large decline in the foreign-born or immigrant population (legal and illegal) between January and May of this year. The decline was caused by a falloff in the number of non-citizens from Latin America who arrived in 1980 or later, a population that overlaps significantly with illegal immigrants. We preliminarily estimate that the number of illegal immigrants has fallen by one million since the start of the year.

Restoring Integrity and Security to the Visa Process ([link removed])
Statement of Jessica M. Vaughan before the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary, June 25, 2025
Excerpt: Even as the number of applications and issuances increased significantly overall and in the largest visa program (for short-term visitors), the refusal rates have declined under Biden. The combination of a greater volume of applications along with more lenient policies has created even more difficulties for vetting and greater opportunity for visa fraud.

Deploying the Alien Enemies Act Against Iran ([link removed])
By George Fishman
Excerpt: Last May, I asked whether Iran-led assassinations, or attempted assassinations, on U.S. soil could trigger the AEA, concluding that “a strong argument can be made that such acts would”. As President Trump well knows, attempted assassinations have already occurred. The AEA’s time may well be now.
