New Pennsylvania Project

Fellow activist,

Today marks the deadline for the Pennsylvania budget process. As a reminder, our state budget is a moral document – where state legislators have a unique opportunity to pass legislation to counteract the Trump regime’s “Big Beautiful Bill” and instead move critical issues forward, such as raising our minimum wage, fairly funding K-12 and higher education, legalizing adult-use marijuana, and defending abortion access.

But here’s the thing: PA’s funding priorities are going to be set well before Trump’s bill gets signed into law, which means we may have major gaps in our budget. As Governor Shapiro stated in the Pennsylvania Capital-Star, “Any lawmaker in D.C. who thinks the commonwealth can backfill this massive hole they’ve created is wrong – and these cuts will have real life consequences for Pennsylvanians.”

Who we elect, from Washington to our state legislature, the courts, and beyond, has major implications for our state. That is why it’s so critical that we engage our centered communities on the ground and make sure voters understand the role that elected officials play in their everyday lives.

However, as the second quarter comes to a close, we are noticing that funding is not moving as quickly as we had anticipated. That means grassroots individual donations are more important than ever.

In order to maintain our current level of operations and to ramp up as we prepare for the crucial Supreme Court retention elections and other judicial, local and municipal elections happening in Pennsylvania this year, we need your help.

As a reminder, all donations up to $50,000 will be MATCHED – we need your help to hit that goal and take full advantage of this opportunity.

We need your help to reach voters across the Commonwealth to ensure they understand what’s at stake and are prepared to turn out to hold legislators accountable who prioritize billionaires over the hardworking people of our state. Help fund our voter engagement and civic education programs so we can achieve a more representative democracy that works for everyone, not just a select few, by rushing $25 or more before MIDNIGHT.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately: Donate $25 = It becomes $50 Donate $50 = It becomes $100 Donate $100 = It becomes $200 Donate $250 = It becomes $500 Donate $1000 = It becomes $2000 MAKE YOUR DONATION TWICE AS POWERFUL →

In this together,

Team NPP

Donations to the New Pennsylvania Project supports our staff’s community engagement efforts including; organizing and hosting town halls, educational webinars, community conversations, and creating digital content, bi-weekly blasts and social media to reach the communities we engage year-round.

The New Pennsylvania Project (NPP) is a voting rights organization with a year-round primary focus on voter registration, civic education, and mobilization. NPP centers historically disenfranchised and often neglected Black, Indigenous and other people of color, immigrant communities and the youth in our work. Through civic engagement, we ensure all eligible voters feel compelled to exercise their freedom to vote in the Commonwealth.
