Hi John,

Wow – what an action-packed legislative session it’s been!

Oregon’s 83rd legislative session just finished up [[link removed]] late Friday night after kicking off January 21, and the pace has been non-stop!

All session long, our lobbying team worked tirelessly alongside pro-life lawmakers – with ongoing support from pro-life Oregonians like you – to advance life-affirming legislation (like bills to protect abortion survivors and unborn babies who can feel pain) and push back against dangerous bills.

You probably remember hearing about these dangerous bills: legislation like SB 1003, which would have expanded assisted suicide; and SB 844, which would have shielded abortion providers from criminal malpractice reports.

Now that the session has concluded, I’m so happy to share that, together, we stopped the expansion of assisted suicide and got the language from SB 844 removed that would have prioritized abortion providers over victims, among other pro-life victories.

These wins have been in no small measure thanks to your responsiveness, action, and financial support. THANK YOU!

There’s so much more to share. You can read more about it in our comprehensive legislative wrap-up article [[link removed]], which also spotlights the tremendous work of your pro-life representatives:

The story of the 2025 legislative session is one of…

strong teamwork between our lobbying team and pro-life lawmakerspowerful action by pro-life Oregonians (including sending hundreds of emails to lawmakers, submitting written testimony, showing up in-person at Lobby Day and the first public hearing for SB 1003, and rushing nearly $9,000 in contributions to bolster our capacity to defeat SB 1003 toward the end of the session); and leveraging alliances across ideological divides to achieve pro-life wins

But it wasn’t all good news.

We introduced pro-life bills that didn’t advance. A bad bill mandating the inclusion of abortion providers in insurance networks made it through. And the new Oregon Health Authority budget will backfill state abortion funding in anticipation of the Trump administration’s defunding of Planned Parenthood at the federal level (read more about that here [[link removed]]).

There’s certainly more work to be done.

But today, we can take time to reflect on the real victories we achieved this session together.

Thank you for your engagement, your prayers, your urgent action, and your financial support.

All of it helped fuel our work during the 83rd legislative session to protect the most vulnerable and work toward an Oregon where every innocent human life is respected and protected.

Because everyone deserves an advocate,
