But it’s a big week for another, not so great, reason. If Trump and Republicans in Congress have their way, I’ll be heading back to Washington, D.C. to vote on their big, bad bill for billionaires. And I’m a big NO. |
I’ve been working hard against this bill from the start. Cutting Medicaid, SNAP, Pell Grants, and energy programs will make many in our country sicker, hungrier, less educated, and poorer. Congressional Republicans are gutting these programs and growing our national debt by trillions so that the wealthiest Americans get a tax giveaway they don’t need. It’s not fair. |
A recent poll said Americans want our government to help lower costs for health care, utilities, and food. This big ugly bill Trump and Republicans are racing to pass raises all of those costs. It’s a reverse Robin Hood scheme: it takes from the poor to give to the rich, hurting everyone along the way. |
I’ll be honest: today is a big deadline for our team — the last day of this fundraising reporting period. When the reports for the last three months come out, people will ask if I’m on track to have a strong campaign and help lead the effort to win back the House of Representatives. |
