PFLAG Offices will be closed July 1-7 so that our staff can rest and recover from a very busy Pride month. We won't be sending We Lead next week, but we'll see you on July 14th!

We're Proud All Year Long

At PFLAG National, we know that Pride is as much about marching in the streets as it is about showing up, every day, for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. So every year we gather to remember and rise.

Pride is deeply personal to us. Because in 1972—a time when few dared to be visible—a mother’s love and refusal to back down or hide sparked a movement that led to the creation of PFLAG. That single act of courageous love grew into a nationwide network of more than 350 chapters and over 550,000 members and supporters, united by one, simple, radical idea: love takes action.

When you give to PFLAG National, you are letting YOUR love take action, and sending a powerful message to LGBTQ+ people, their parents and families, and their allies: We are here and we are still fighting for a world where every LGBTQ+ person is safe, celebrated, empowered, and loved.

Please consider making a gift to PFLAG National today.

Nominations Open for PFLAG National Chapter Awards

Hundreds of PFLAG chapters across the country, run by thousands of volunteers, have been working overtime within their communities over the last two years. Now, you can honor that work by nominating them for a 2025 PFLAG National Chapter Award.

Presented at our biennial convention, Learning With Love, PFLAG National Chapter Awards honor chapters that are going above and beyond to help achieve PFLAG’s mission of creating a caring, just, and affirming world for LGBTQ+ people and those who love them.

All chapters in good standing are eligible for this award, and the deadline for submissions is Friday, August 8th, so we encourage you to  submit your nomination now, at pflagnation.al/2025ChapterNoms. Honorees will be announced on Tuesday, September 9th.

Have questions? Reach out to us at [email protected] for support.

The Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising

56 years ago this week, the last straw broke. After YEARS of harassment, violence, and arrests from cops, the patrons of the Stonewall Inn—including trans women of color, drag queens, and other LGBTQ+ minorities—fought back in a series of riots and demonstrations that would be the turning point for the gay rights movement.

Today, we remember our roots. We remember how our LGBTQ+ elders literally fought for equality, and how the rights we enjoy today came from the voices and actions of our most marginalized.

At PFLAG National, we proudly carry the mantle of those who fought before us--including our founder's son, activist Morty Manford--and are STILL fighting for an inclusive, equitable world for our LGBTQ+ loved ones.

Let’s keep leading with love. Visit pflag.org/jointhefight to learn more.
