This is precisely the time when artists go to work. There is no
time for despair, no place for self-pity, no need for silence, no
room for fear. We speak, we write, we do language. That is how
civilizations heal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

This quote has always hit hard for me. Toni Morrison wrote it in
the aftermath of 9/11. she was speaking to the vital, urgent role
of artists during times of crisis, violence, and chaos.

It took me until very recently to consider myself an "artist". I
always thought that art was something for the creatives, the
musicians, the non-conformists. But art is anything that tells
the truth, exposes the illusions, makes you question everything.
And these days we all need to be questioning everything.

This is not the time for us to retreat or deny the urge to create
and make art. Art is not a luxury, it is a necessity. It helps us
process grief, confront truth, imagine new futures, and hold each
other through the unspeakable.

And we, the artists, are the workers in the field; hospicing the
old world to its end and building a new one from the rubble.

SOL ( [link removed] ) is a monthly
long intensive that weaves together personal coaching, somatic
movement, morning pages (inspired by The Artist’s Way), and
intuitive design tools to support the full arc of creative
emergence—from ideation to integration. Rooted in courage, truth
and imagination, SOL is a brave space for artists who want to
make trouble, tell the whole story, and create work that refuses
to comply.

This creative workshop is for artists, makers, and cultural
workers who are ready to use their art as a bold intervention in
dominant culture. In a world shaped by systems of extraction,
erasure, and control, art has the power to reveal truth, spark
resistance, and imagine otherwise. Together, we’ll explore how to
make work that interrupts the status quo, reclaims stolen
narratives, and plants seeds for new futures.

Through movement, writing, dialogue, and collective creation, we
will:

* Examine how dominant culture shows up in our creative practices
* Unearth ancestral, liberatory, and subversive artistic lineages
* Reclaim art-making as a political and relational act
* Design creative disruptions rooted in truth-telling,
embodiment, and solidarity
* Develop a practice of making that sustains us and builds
collective power

This creative incubator includes weekly one-on-one coaching,
weekly group movement/metabolizing sessions and 27 days of
morning pages (daily journaling prompts sent to your email). It
is designed to help you recover the inner artist and make arts
that refuses the status quo and reimagines what's possible.

🗓️ Intensive starts July 6th!
