The Human Impact of Biden’s Border Crisis—Exclusive Video

Stop the flow: In an exclusive new video for The Daily Signal, rancher Martin Wall describes the horrifying impact of the Biden border policy on his Texas ranch—and the relief that came within the first days of Trump’s presidency.

  • Wall bought the ranch in May 2021: “That night, my wife and I were lying in bed and…there were some illegals in the kitchen. We called the Border Patrol, and they told us we were on our own,” Wall tells The Daily Signal.
  • Now, with President Trump in office, the flow of illegals onto Wall’s ranch has stopped completely.

Our Visa Process Needs Reform

Security: The current immigration visa system is riddled with fraud and inadequate vetting processes, as Simon Hankinson, senior research fellow in the Border Security and Immigration Center, told lawmakers last week.

  • “A visa is a privilege, not a right,” Hankinson told the House Judiciary Committee. Commonsense reforms would minimize visa abuses.

An ‘America First’ Human Rights Agenda

Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images

Pro-America: The America First human rights focus is primarily based on protecting freedom of speech, religion, thought and conscience, and freedom of expression, "as well as respect for democratic elections and property rights,” writes Nile Gardiner, director of the Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom.

  • International aid should, he says, "be given only to those nations that share America’s principles.”

Supreme Court: Several Hits, One Big Miss

John Baggaley/Getty Images

SCOTUS: The Supreme Court wrapped up its most recent session with a flurry of decisions on major cases:

  • The hits: curbing nationwide injunction abuse; upholding parents’ right to opt out of sex and gender-ideology lessons for their children; upholding Texas law that protects children from pornography; allowing states to close a loophole that enabled the funneling of taxpayer dollars to the abortion industry; and upholding Tennessee law that protects minors from gender transition surgery and drugs.
  • The miss: letting Congress continue to delegate its taxing power to an executive branch agency.

Massive USAID Bribery Scandal Made Possible by DEI

Fraud: Recent guilty pleas by a U.S. Agency for International Development contracting officer and three corporate executives show what happens when contract awards are based on “diversity, equity, and inclusion” standards instead of merit, writes Senior Legal Fellow Hans von Spakovsky.

  • “This bribery and fraud scheme would not have happened if the federal government required all contracts to be awarded on a competitive basis and did not play favorites,” he writes.

Twisting the Truth About Extreme Weather and Climate Change

Big lies: Journalists are now trained to blame “climate change” for every extreme weather event. But they are parroting a false narrative, says Diana Furchtgott-Roth, director of the Center for Energy, Climate, and Environment.

  • The claim that climate change is causing more and stronger tornadoes and hurricanes in the U.S. “is unsupported by the relevant trend data,” she writes in an op-ed co-authored by Young Leaders Program member Ryan Strasser.

Robert Greenway, director of the Allison Center for National Security, appeared on Fox Business to discuss President Trump’s negotiated ceasefire between Israel and Iran. He notes that, after the U.S. bombing, Iran now has no place to hide its enriched uranium that can’t be targeted by Israel. Watch the clip on X.
