Over the years, LGBTIQ communities worldwide have faced many challenges—some ingrained in various cultures, others fomented by outsiders—but never so many dire challenges wrapped into one largely orchestrated moment as we face right now.
Since 2025 began, I’ve been asked again and again: What’s going to happen to the global LGBTIQ movement? To the tenuous funding sources so many communities, programs, and services depend on? To the hard-won progress made over decades of struggle, courage, and sacrifice?
