Friends -
My Republican colleagues in the Senate are twisting themselves in knots working on President Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill." They may even try to pass it in the dark of night overnight.
To review the bidding, I did some middle class math. Let's take an example. Joe and Nancy from Lansing, Michigan. 60 years old, kids are out of the house. They make a combined $80,000 a year. Their health care costs, on the ACA marketplace, will go up by $13,000 per year -- a 197% increase in their costs.
This bill is designed to be a perfect storm for the middle class. Americans living at or below the poverty line will get hit in every direction: health care, food, other programs we depend on. Costs are going up. All of this to pay for tax cuts for the most wealthy.
You better believe this is the same health care fight from President Trump's first term. We have to bring the same tools, the same education to our neighbors so they understand what this really means.
