I recently joined a coalition of 21 attorneys general to sue the Trump administration for illegally slashing billions in funding—without warning or justification—from states and other entities that people count on.
Under orders from Trump and the so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)—previously led by Elon Musk—federal agencies are eliminating support for everything from education to public safety to fighting hunger.
To justify this, they’re invoking a single, five-word clause buried deep in federal regulations. But that doesn’t give them the right to ignore the Constitution, override Congress, and abandon Americans in need.
The Trump administration’s use of this legal gimmick reveals a deep and utter disregard for the rule of law. I won’t stand for that—so I’m taking them to court to put a stop to it.
