He served as Deputy National Intelligence Officer for the Near East at the National Intelligence Council, where he advised the Director of National Intelligence and senior policymakers on Iran. He later led the Intelligence Community’s analytic support to the U.S. presidential transition and directed the Office of the Director of National Intelligence’s Investment Security Group. Today, he is the Director of Scowcroft Middle East Security Initiative at the Atlantic Council.
