I was raised in a working-class family. My mom was a public school teacher, and my dad was a working musician. They struggled through more broken systems – from underfunded schools, to outrageous healthcare costs, to juggling different jobs to pay the bills.
Even when I grew up and ran for Congress, I was a Gen Z working class kid – I didn’t have the same advantages that other candidates have. I drove for Uber and racked up credit card debt just to make ends meet during my campaign. Because of that, everyone counted me out.
But I was able to defy the odds: by becoming a community leader, the National Organizing Director for March for our Lives, and the first member of Gen Z elected to Congress.
Now, I need you to help me defy the odds once again to stay in Congress. I’m determined to keep fighting for working‑class folks, but I can’t do that without your grassroots support.
Herbert, thank you for supporting our mission here at Elect Southern Democrats! With your help, we were able to turn out tens of thousands of Democrats in the 2024 election, helping flip Southern seats from red to blue.
Now, we’re mobilizing to boost more Democrats across the South to victory – who will advance inclusive policies that address racial justice, social equity, and economic opportunity, and help take back our majorities in 2026.
We believe in a simple principle: When Democrats vote, Democrats win. That’s why we’re fighting back against Trump’s MAGA extremists by turning out tens of thousands of Democrats across the South in states like Florida, Georgia, and Texas.
