Friends,
June has flown by, and I can’t believe it’s already almost July. As we head into the week of the Fourth, it’s a good time to pause and reflect on everything this country stands for and provides us. Freedom, opportunity, and the courage to keep improving—those are blessings worth appreciating, defending, and passing on.
This is a busy time in Congress, and I’ve included a few of this week’s key highlights in the newsletter below. From supporting President Trump’s efforts to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power, to advancing legislation that strengthens our energy grid and cuts burdensome regulations, we’re focused on keeping America strong—at home and abroad.
Wishing you and your family a safe and meaningful Independence Day.
Sincerely,

"Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy"
I joined "Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy" on Sunday Night to break down the latest on the Iran–Israel conflict. We discussed Israel’s launch of Operation Rising Lion, a preemptive strike against Iranian nuclear and missile sites after Iran blew past enrichment limits and announced plans for new facilities. Days later, President Trump authorized Operation Midnight Hammer—a bold U.S. strike using B-2 bombers and bunker-busters to cripple Iran’s underground nuclear program. I made it clear: this wasn’t the start of World War III—it was strength used wisely to prevent it. America acted from a position of power, not recklessness. |

"The Guy Benson Show"
I joined "The Guy Benson Show" to discuss President Trump’s strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities—a necessary red line. I criticized the politically motivated “low confidence” intel leaks, downplaying the strike’s effectiveness and calling out the “MAGA grift”—Republicans chasing online clout while undermining national security. I also warned about Iranian sleeper cell attacks here in response to U.S. and Israeli actions. |

Entergy Town Hall
Recently, I attended a company town hall at Entergy's headquarters in The Woodlands. I discussed my work on the Energy & Commerce Committee, including efforts to streamline permitting, safeguard baseload power, and prepare for the increased electricity demand driven by AI and data centers. I highlighted the importance of energy reliability and thanked Entergy employees for their crucial role in powering Texas and supporting American energy leadership. |
Chatting with Houston-Area Realtors |
I had the opportunity to speak with Houston-area realtors at Walden on Lake Houston and share updates on key legislation impacting our communities. I highlighted the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” which makes the 2017 tax cuts permanent, cuts IRS red tape for small businesses, and boosts Made-in-America manufacturing—priorities that directly support real estate, job growth, and local investment. I also discussed my work on energy reliability, healthcare access, and national security, including efforts to combat the fentanyl crisis and take down cartel networks. It was great to be with the people who help build strong communities—you’re not just selling homes; you’re opening doors to opportunity, and that’s exactly what we’re fighting for in Congress.

Energy and Commerce Hearing on HHS' Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
This week, I had the chance to speak with Secretary Kennedy during the Health Subcommittee hearing about the importance of advancing Direct Primary Care. DPC is a cost-effective, patient-centered model that’s already improving outcomes in the private sector. States want to bring it to Medicaid, but federal red tape is holding them back. If we’re serious about lowering costs and improving access—especially for our most vulnerable—we can’t afford to ignore solutions that are already working. |

Full Committee on Energy and Commerce Advances 13 Bills to Unleash American Energy
This week, the Energy and Commerce Committee held a markup to advance 13 bills focused on strengthening our power grid, expanding reliable energy sources, and reducing dependence on foreign adversaries. I proudly supported efforts to streamline permitting, boost LNG exports, and lower energy costs for American families, because a strong energy sector means a stronger, safer America. These bills are a significant step toward an energy strategy built on reliability, affordability, and national security. |

Energy and Commerce Hearing on Coal Ash
This week, the House Environment Subcommittee held a hearing examining a decade of coal ash policy, including key EPA rules, congressional action, and the role of states under the WIIN Act. I emphasized that coal ash regulation must support the continued operation of baseload power plants, rather than undermining them with legal uncertainty and inflexible mandates. With energy demand surging due to data centers, EVs, and electrification, we can’t afford to lose reliable, dispatchable power because of excessive red tape. States are ready to lead, and we should expand—not discourage—the safe, beneficial use of coal ash in infrastructure. |

SITREP 19: Fire the Senate Parliamentarian Now
In this SITREP, I clarify why several critical parts of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill are at risk, due to actions by a rogue Senate Parliamentarian and a dishonest leak of a classified, low-confidence assessment of Iranian nuclear bunker-buster strikes. I also discuss the legal basis of a major Supreme Court decision, which was a significant victory for the Trump Administration on deportations. |
