Dear Neighbor,   Are you an IHHS caregiver who has not been paid?  Are you the recipient of IHHS or WPCS services for in-home care and have a caregiver that the State of California has not yet paid? If so, we want to hear from you.   Our caregivers and in-home care workers take care of our loved ones when they need it most – and allow them to stay in their home and near family.    If you are a caregiver or an in-home care worker, you do essential work to help make sure that our community receives the care it needs.    The federal government helps fund in-home care for those who qualify for Medi-Cal. Two programs are available, IHHS and WPCS. IHHS provides up to 283 hours of care per month and WPCS is available to those who need more care. WPCS provides up to an additional 430 hours of care per month. Anyone, even a family member, can register to be an IHHS care worker to be hired and paid to provide the care.    We have heard from a number of IHHS caregivers who have provided caregiving services but have not been paid for months.  In many cases, the IHHS-registered caregivers are hired under the WPCS program but have not been paid by the State of California for months. This is wrong. We want help those caregivers get paid.    If you are a caregiver with IHHS and have not been paid, we want to hear from you.  If you are the recipient of caregiving services and have hired an IHHS worker who has not been paid we also want to hear from you because we want to do all we can to make sure our workers are paid timely for their hard work.

Caregiving is an essential job. Let’s make sure that our caregivers also receive the care and support they need to do their jobs.
