Dear Friend,
Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
Despite a months-long, good-faith
diplomatic effort led by President Trump, the Iranian regime refused
to abandon its nuclear ambitions. Every opportunity for a peaceful
resolution was rejected. President Donald J. Trump's actions were both
justified and necessary.
The United States carried out a
successful, targeted strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow,
Natanz, and Esfahan. This operation sent a clear and unmistakable
message: Iran must never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon.
These sites were at the core of a regime
that funds terror, destabilizes the region, and threatens America and
its allies. A nuclear-armed Iran would endanger Israel, inflict global
instability, and put countless lives at risk.
Thanks to the extraordinary precision of
our Armed Forces, the mission was executed flawlessly, and all
aircraft returned safely.
After the successful strikes, President
Trump was able to negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Iran.
President Trump is leading with a policy agenda of peace through
strength.

President Trump is pursuing peace through
strength—and it's working.
Iran is a terrorist state that was
pursuing a nuclear weapon. Our decisive strikes crippled their nuclear
capability and sent a clear message: the U.S. will not tolerate
terrorism.
Now there’s a ceasefire, and even Israel
stood down because of President Trump’s leadership. The Middle East is
safer today because of it.
Calls to impeach him over this are
ridiculous. Obama and Biden launched similar strikes without pushback.
This is the height of partisan hypocrisy. I joined WGAL to discuss. Click

On Iran... President Trump delivered
results, not rhetoric.

President Trump's victories... here is CNN. Click

On Wednesday, I joined "Mornings with
Maria" on Fox Business to discuss President Trump’s decisive
action against Iran, which crippled key nuclear facilities and
eliminated a major threat. We also covered the OBBB and the Fed’s
reluctance to act.
The OBBB will extend tax relief for
families and small businesses, codify Trump’s border security
policies, and expand domestic manufacturing and trade. It’s a major
pro-growth package—and we’re on track to meet the White House’s July
4th deadline.
On rate cuts, the Fed is still dragging
its feet, but the U.S. is in growth mode. If the CPI and PCE remain
mostly steady, there’s no reason for the Fed not to cut rates. Click
here or below to watch.

Whether you take a broad view of the
economy or focus squarely on the Fed’s dual mandate, the case for
easing is increasingly clear.
Chairman Powell deserves credit for
navigating some of the toughest terrain in modern history with record
spending from the Biden Administration during COVID. But with
inflation cooling and a strong labor market, the upside of lower rates
is becoming hard to miss.
As the U.S. gears up to pass the One Big
Beautiful Bill—a generational investment in American industry and
innovation—lower rates would supercharge private-sector growth, unlock
long-term capital, and help usher in a new golden era of economic
dynamism. A rate cut would also kickstart the housing market, which
carries powerful multipliers across jobs, materials, and consumer
demand.
It would also ease pressure on the
federal government’s debt service costs, made worse by years of
unchecked Biden-era spending.
The moment is here. We’re building
momentum. Get on board, Mr. Chairman.
On Thursday, I joined CNN to
make this clear: the OBBB is critical for working families, small
businesses, and America’s economic future. It extends the tax relief
that helped drive growth, and prevents middle-class families from
facing the most significant tax hike in history. It also strengthens
Medicaid by ensuring the program serves those who truly need
it—targeting waste, fraud, and abuse.
This bill delivers
responsible savings, pro-growth reforms, and the long-term certainty
Americans deserve. Click

Democrats made outrageous accusations
about why the classified briefing on the U.S. strike on Iran was
postponed. The truth is simple: it was delayed from Tuesday to Friday
because two key officials—including the Secretary of State—were
overseas at NATO.
We held the briefing this morning with
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, CIA
Director John Ratcliffe, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff
General Dan ‘Razin’ Caine (Pictured below).

And in my six and a half years in
Congress, it was without a doubt the most thorough and informative
I’ve received. Even Democrats in the room agreed.
To my constituents and to the American
people: you should be incredibly confident and proud of our Commander
in Chief, military leadership, our military personnel, and the
incredible work that went into crippling Iran’s ability to make war
and develop a nuclear weapon.
Not one U.S. military plane was fired
upon going in or out. The targets were hit and destroyed exactly as
intended.
As proud as we are, our adversaries are
also in awe… Peace Through Strength.
I joined the "RJ Harris Breakfast Show"
on WHP-580 to discuss President Trump’s decisive leadership—from
restoring strength in NATO to neutralizing Iran’s nuclear threat. We
also covered the OBBB, which delivers for working families and small
businesses, strengthens border security, includes key energy
provisions, and promotes pro-growth policies that move our country
forward. Click

Despite the media’s falsehoods and
Democrat fearmongering, eligible American citizens will not lose
Medicaid coverage under the One Big Beautiful Bill.
This legislation strengthens Medicaid for
those who are eligible under the law by rooting out waste, fraud, and
abuse—not by targeting the vulnerable. Medicaid spending has increased
57% over the last five years, underscoring the urgent need for
responsible reforms that protect the program’s future.
Here are
the facts, the only individuals affected by these reforms are those
who do not meet eligibility or participation standards:
▪️ Able-bodied adults without
dependents who choose not to meet modest 20-hour-per-week work,
education, or service requirements
▪️ Illegal immigrants who were never
eligible in the first place
▪️ Ineligible individuals improperly
kept on the rolls under Biden-era policies
Republicans are restoring integrity to
the program and protecting Medicaid for seniors, the disabled, and
low-income families who rely on it. Click

IN NEWS YOU
WON’T HEAR IN THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA: President Trump and
Congressional Republicans' OBBB will boost real wages, reduce the
deficit, produce meaningful economic growth, and bring stability to
the national debt, according to a new analysis by the Council of
Economic Advisers.
Here are the topline
findings:
- Real wages for workers will increase by
as much as $7,200 per year.
- After-tax take-home pay for a typical
family with two kids will increase by as much as $10,900 per
year.
- Real investment will increase by as much
as 10%.
- At least 1.1 percentage points added to
annual real GDP growth.
- 7 million jobs will be protected and
created.
Moreover, as a result of President Trump’s economic
agenda:
- The deficits will be reduced by as much as $11.1 trillion —
including as much as $5.2 trillion from economic growth, $1.6 trillion
from discretionary spending cuts, $2.8 trillion from tariff revenue,
and as much as $1.5 trillion from interest savings.
- The debt-to-GDP will fall to between 88% and 99% — versus rising
to 117% if the Trump Tax Cuts aren’t extended in the One Big Beautiful
Bill.
In additional news you won't
hear in the mainstream media, U.S. Border Patrol didn’t
release a single illegal immigrant into the interior of the U.S. last
month, the New
York Post reports — the latest victory in President Donald J.
Trump’s relentless commitment to securing the homeland and a
remarkable turnaround from the 62,000 illegals released into the
country under the Biden Administration just one year ago.
Promises made, promises kept.

From
the Post:
“Border Patrol agents didn’t release a
single migrant into the US last month — a staggering drop after the
Biden administration allowed 62,000 illegal crossers in the country in
May 2024, The Post can exclusively reveal.
Agents caught 8,725 migrants crossing
illegally at the southern border last month. That’s a 93% decrease
from May 2024, when 117,905 were nabbed, according to internal data
obtained by The Post.
And Acting Customs and Border Protection
commissioner Pete Flores said it’s a result of the Trump
administration’s tough border policies.”
The U.S. currently has only one rare
earth mining company and one processing refinery, while China controls
70% of the world's rare earth supply.
Congress must implement strategies to
fully unlock America's vast mineral potential.
My proposed legislation takes an
important step to incentivize the domestic production of rare earth
elements and critical minerals. It offers a tax credit for both
supplying waste materials from coal mining and then extracting rare
earth minerals from it.
Let's prioritize American innovation, American jobs, and American
security. The time for decisive action on critical minerals is now. Click

hearing.
On Wednesday morning, I spoke on the
House floor in strong support of the FY26 MilCon-VA Appropriations
Act—a significant investment in our veterans, military families, and
national security.
The bill:
- Fully funds veterans' medical
care—$131B
- Invests in military family housing and
Guard facilities
- Supports President Trump’s effort to end
veteran homelessness
- Protects Second Amendment rights for
veterans
This bill will directly benefit the 45,000 veterans in our
District, as well as their families. I urged my colleagues to pass
this legislation, which reflects our values, strengthens our defense,
and ensures we never waver in our duty to those who’ve sacrificed for
our freedom. Click

I had a
productive working lunch with members of the Associated Builders and
Contractors Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter (ABC Eastern PA).
ABC represents over 14,000 workers in Eastern PA and is a powerful
voice for merit-based construction and workforce development. I was
grateful to receive the organization’s “Champion of the Merit Shop”
award and to discuss how we’re advancing pro-growth, pro-construction
policies—like the Fair and Open Competition Act, the OBBB, and
expanding Pell Grants for workforce training.

That evening, I joined Speaker Johnson, Leader Scalise, and fellow
Members of Congress at a reception with ABC leaders from across the
country—including George Hayden and Barry Schlouch—to continue the
conversation about growing our workforce, empowering builders, and
ensuring America remains a nation that builds.

On Wednesday, I attended a meeting of the Republican Study
Committee, which was joined by White House Deputy Chief of Staff James
Blair and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. During the
meeting, we discussed the many benefits of the One Big Beautiful Bill
and the importance of its passage. The Senate is currently working
through the reconciliation process, and the House is expected to vote
on final passage next week. This legislation is critical to advancing
President Trump’s America-First agenda.

The One Big Beautiful Bill will
unleash our economy and restore the American Dream. This week, House
Republicans from across the country came together to highlight the
many wins this legislation will deliver for the American
people.
The American economy is gaining
momentum—but the Fed doesn’t see the growth potential. The House GOP
Conference put together a great video about the bill. Click

Inflation is down, supply chains are
being rebalanced, and the OBBB will sharpen our competitive edge and
incentivize capital investment. The economic impact is real.
Yet the Fed is still holding rates at
4.5%. A 1% cut would save $200B in debt service payments and add $290B
in GDP. That’s nearly half a trillion dollars in impact.
I urge the Fed to prioritize growth over
apprehension, as President Trump is advocating. Click

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Coal
Caucus, I hosted a briefing today with leaders from Talen Energy,
Vistra, AEP, Duke Energy, and LCRA to discuss the regulatory
challenges facing coal generation—especially the Biden-era Legacy CCR
Rule.
This rule places costly burdens on long-closed sites and
threatens grid reliability by targeting infrastructure still in
use.
The U.S. leads the world in clean coal
technology—we can produce energy more safely and efficiently than
anywhere else in the world. But instead of building on that advantage,
the previous administration’s rules made it harder to sustain a
reliable, affordable energy mix. We’re working with energy
producers on solutions that protect jobs, strengthen our grid, and
keep coal in America’s all-of-the-above and all-of-the-below energy
strategy.
Fortunately, under President Trump, we now have an
EPA that understands how detrimental this rule is, and we will be
working with them to make necessary changes.

I opened a Financial Services Committee
Republicans' Oversight Subcommittee hearing on Thursday to examine how
President Biden’s former CFPB Director, Rohit Chopra, weaponized the
agency against disfavored industries.
Under the direction of Director Chopra,
the CFPB strayed far from its mission of consumer protection. Instead,
it used aggressive enforcement and civil investigative demands to
intimidate small businesses and push a partisan agenda.
I’ve called for a formal investigation
into whether Chopra exceeded his legal authority—and I will continue
fighting to ensure no federal agency is ever used as a political
weapon again. Click

I attended the Luzerne County GOP Women's
Golf Outing. Shelley serves as the first Vice President of the
organization. (Shelley and I pictured below with County
Councilman John Lombardo, Luzerne County GOP Women's Chair Sandy
Debais, Luzerne County GOP judicial candidate Tom Mosca, County
Councilman Brian Thornton, Congressman Rob Bresnahan and his fiancee
Chelsea, and County Councilwoman and Luzerne County GOP Chair LeAnn
McDermott.)

My son Danny's team won with -13. He was
joined by his buddies, Lenny, Matt, and Zach. (Shelley and I

When I first ran for Congress, I promised
to provide the best constituent services in the country, and my team
and I work every day to deliver on that commitment.
Since January 1st, we’ve returned more
than $9 million to residents across our district.
When you need assistance with a federal
agency, we’re here to help. Our goal is to aid you in recovering the
benefits, refunds, and support you’ve earned and are entitled to.
So far this year, we’ve helped
individuals recover: over $7.4 million from the IRS, $600,000 from the
Social Security Administration, $227,223 from the VA, $48,789 from
OPM, and more from other federal sources.
If you’re having trouble with a federal
agency, don’t hesitate to contact one of our district offices to see
how we can help.

Lastly, I had the chance to enjoy a great
Pennsylvania-style day with my son on a Saturday afternoon.

May God continue to bless our nation. I
look forward to seeing you soon,

Dan
