Friend, this week, a group of seniors in wheelchairs came to the Capitol to do something simple and powerful: Speak up for their healthcare.

They weren’t violent. They weren’t disruptive. They just wanted to be heard — because up to 20 million seniors could lose Medicaid under the Republicans’ brutal new budget.

Their reward for showing up? They were zip-tied and they were arrested.

Let that sink in: Seniors in wheelchairs were handcuffed in the U.S. Capitol because they protested Congress gutting their Medicaid the very same week Mitch McConnell said we’d all “get over it.”
