Former National Security Advisor John Bolton is releasing a tell-all book aimed at attacking President Trump. Bolton claims, without any factual backup, that President Trump did indeed withhold aid from Ukraine for political reasons, and, again without any evidence, that the president asked Chinese President Xi Jinping for election assistance.
President Trump has responded by stating that Bolton’s book is full of lies and is illegal, as it contains highly classified information and is slanderous in it's claims against the president. John Bolton did not allow the National Security Council to finish vetting the book to make sure that no classified information is included. Bolton is now being sued by the Department of Justice as a result of the book.
