John,
Trump promised “America First.”
He promised “no more endless wars.”
He promised isolationism.
Instead, he just brought us to the brink of a devastating war with Iran.
On June 21, Trump ordered multiple B-2 bombers to strike three nuclear sites in Iran — at Fordow, Natanz, and near Isfahan. This illegal, reckless attack triggered immediate retaliation from Iran, including strikes on U.S. military bases in Qatar.
Then on June 23, Trump announced a surprise ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.
The situation is still fragile and the potential for escalation is still dangerously high. Trump’s actions have already shown us how quickly things can spiral. We must stay vigilant — and keep pushing Congress to act before the bombs start falling again.
That’s why we’re demanding immediate passage of two critical War Powers Resolutions — H.Con.Res.38 and S.J.Res.59 — to block Trump from launching unauthorized military action (again) and force a return to diplomacy.
The American people didn’t want to bomb Iran. Congress didn’t authorize bombing Iran. And the consequences could have been catastrophic.
Now is the time to turn up the pressure. Let’s flood Congress with a clear message: No more illegal wars. No more complacency while Trump overreaches his power. No more putting lives in danger.
