![]() Hi team, Sorry to bother you on a Saturday, but I needed you to hear this right away. In just a couple days, we face our first public financing deadline of the general election. I know that might just sound like jargon, but trust me, this is a really big deal.
When campaigns publicly report their fundraising numbers, there’s usually a rash of news stories that follow. Inevitably, we start hearing questions like: “How many grassroots donors does this campaign have? Are they falling behind expectations?” These questions then translate to real-life consequences. If a candidate fundraises less than expected, they’re seen as vulnerable — so an out-of-state super PAC may jump in with another $100k or $250k to reserve TV ads. And those are exactly the consequences we can’t afford when we’re up against Donald Trump’s handpicked Republican nominee — in a race that polling has shown is statistically tied. Listen, this is the grassroots team that helped power me to victory in the primary election. Now, I’m asking you to step up once again. Thank you, Mikie Sherrill |
