A simple exercise to perform on the Power Plate are Arm Circles. This idea came to us from our friends at the [Egoscue Method]([link removed]).

You simply stand on your Power Plate, turn it on, and circle your arms for 30 seconds.

Forward and then backward.  Your shoulders will open up, and you'll feel the vibration through your back, shoulders and arms.

You might even be surprised how much resistance is in your shoulders each time you move your arms up.

You might also be surprised how much you activate and tone the muscles involved.  Adding some light weights will amplify the toning effect.

Here are 6 key benefits from this simple movement:

1. Deeper Muscle Activation
The harmonic vibrations from Power Plate stimulate more motor units in your shoulders, back, and arms. This means more muscle fibers are recruited during the movement—even the small stabilizers—enhancing strength, control, and endurance.

2. Enhanced Proprioception and Nervous System Engagement
Power Plate helps your brain “wake up” to your body’s alignment. As you perform slow, controlled arm circles, your nervous system receives continuous feedback, improving your sense of joint position, range of motion, and balance.

3. Recalibration of Shoulder and Scapular Mechanics
Egoscue uses arm circles to help re-center the shoulder blades. On the Power Plate, the rhythmic vibration unwinds tension in the traps, neck, and upper back, helping you return to better biomechanics faster.

4. Increased Blood Flow and Lymphatic Drainage
The vibrations stimulate circulation through the upper extremities. This improves oxygen delivery and helps clear metabolic waste, especially helpful if your shoulders feel stiff or “clogged.”

5. Fascia and Tendon Mobility Boost
Arm circles on the Power Plate gently mobilize sticky fascia around the deltoids, pecs, and rotator cuff tendons. The amplitude of the vibration acts like a micro-massage, helping restore elasticity to connective tissues.

6. Enhanced Shoulder Joint Lubrication
The movement combined with vibration helps increase synovial fluid in the shoulder joint, reducing friction and improving smoothness of motion.

Protocol:

-

Set frequency to 30–35Hz

-

Perform slow forward arm circles for 30 seconds, then reverse for 30 seconds

-

Focus on keeping elbows straight and shoulders relaxed

-

Optional: Add light weights (1–3 lbs) or thumbs-up position to engage different shoulder chains

---------------------------------------------------------------

Bottom Line:
Arm circles are already a potent postural reset. But on the Power Plate, they become a whole-body nervous system reset, delivering faster results for alignment, pain relief, and shoulder function. It's like updating your body’s software in real time.
