THIS TUESDAY AT YOUR LOCAL HOME DEPOT:
SHARE KNOW YOUR RIGHTS INFORMATION TO HELP PROTECT IMMIGRANT COMMUNITIES

ICE has no qualms about where they snatch immigrant workers or the cruelty they inflict while doing it. One day, they're tackling and detaining citizens and non-citizens alike at a Home Depot, the next, waiting outside of immigration hearings, taking whole families into custody.

The detention of our union sister was one such incident. Her whole family, including her two young sons, were detained after a routine immigration appointment. What's worse, Nicolle's 6-year-old son Juan has a serious medical condition and is receiving treatment at Seattle Children's Hospital. Detaining the family in Texas and threatening to deport them not only separates them from their community, but it also seriously endangers Juan's life.

Home Depots and courthouses have become hot spots for ICE activity. Working people are targeted at random, usually just because of the color of their skin.

What can we do, as workers and union members, who know solidarity is a powerful force, to fight back against injustice? We show up and have the backs of ALL workers--no matter their immigration status.

So here's what we're doing: This weekend, workers are taking a Justice Journey throughout the country. This journey will lift the voices of workers such as Nicolle and spread awareness of the historical and systemic injustices of this current moment.

Then, on July 1, we're leafleting outside of Home Depot stores. We'll be sharing critical Know Your Rights information so that you and your neighbors are informed of the rights you have when detained or when you witness someone else being detained.

Sign up to attend a Home Depot leafleting event near you. [[link removed]]

The Trump Administration policies weren't created in a vacuum. We're fighting against a system of power and privilege that threatens to get worse every day. Families, no matter their documentation, are already struggling to afford food, housing, and healthcare--now they have to fear masked agents snatching them off the street or politicians gutting Medicaid, SNAP, public schools, and vital community services, just to hand more tax breaks to the wealthy.

We know that solidarity is a powerful force to fight back against injustice. It's time for us all, across races, faith, place and background, to be in solidarity with immigrant Americans.

Do what you can to resist and fight back. Sign up for the “Stand up to ICE, Know Your Rights” day of action. [[link removed]]
