Current Progress: 65% to goalPIRG is a citizen-funded organization. We don't take a dime from corporations. Instead, we rely on members like you to power our advocacy.
Here are just a few of the problems our members and staff have taken on in the past year:
* The vast majority of plastic that is produced ends up in a landfill, incinerator or, worse, our environment, where it will slowly break down into smaller and smaller pieces. These microplastics are being found in our soil, water, and even our bodies.[1]
* Toxic PFAS "forever chemicals" are in the drinking water of almost half of all Americans, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Even at low levels, these chemicals have been linked to cancer, thyroid disease and reproductive problems.[2]
* Electronic waste is one of the fastest growing waste streams in America. Because of non-replaceable parts, electronics often last just a year or two before they have to be thrown away. Once tossed out, they pollute our communities with dangerous metals like lead and mercury.[3]
Will you continue being a champion for consumers and the public interest by making a donation to our 2025 End of Fiscal Year Drive today? We've set a goal of raising $25,000 by midnight on June 30, and we need your help to get there.

With your help, we'll take more action in the new fiscal year to solve these and other problems:
* We're working to convince decision-makers to restrict the use of PFAS-laden sewage sludge on farmland.
* We'll push to phase out the worst single-use plastics, including by convincing companies like Whole Foods to make less wasteful packaging in the first place.
* We'll work with legislators to ensure your Right to Repair your own electronics, which will reduce e-waste.
None of these will be easy tasks, but PIRG has a decades-long record of taking on challenges and winning.
With the expertise and perseverance of our staff, and the support of our members, we're confident that we'll continue to win real results for a healthier, safer, more sustainable society and a more honest and transparent marketplace. Are you in?
Our 2025 End of Fiscal Year Drive ends at midnight on June 30. Donate today.
