Over the past 15 months across California, I’ve been asked whether I’d want to be called the First Gentleman or the First Partner.

I’ve told every one of them that the only title I need is ‘Betty’s husband.’

Because John – I am so grateful to be married to a such remarkable woman.

I see the determination she has demonstrated to prioritize being a part-time caregiver to her 102-year old mother AND running a bottom-up, people-first campaign for Governor.

Betty is who we need fighting for us in Sacramento. Not because I am her husband, but because she’s the best choice for California. Her integrity, intelligence, and experience in making every dollar count are the qualities we need right now.
