Every single Member of Congress voted to condemn these attacks. Following House passage, Speaker Johnson said, "All acts of political violence are unconscionable, and every leader across the political spectrum must speak with one unequivocal voice against it." | On Wednesday, the House approved the FY26 Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, which fully funds veterans' health care and benefits. Unfortunately, 206 House Democrats voted against this commonsense bill. Speaker Johnson reiterated House Republicans' commitment to our men and women in uniform. Unfortunately, 195 Democrats chose to disregard the rule of law and embrace violence when it serves their political purposes. See Speaker Johnson's full statement below. | At the weekly House Republican Leadership press conference, Speaker Johnson addressed President Trump’s historic ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, the constitutionality of the strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities, and the necessity of passing the One Big Beautiful Bill to bolster American national defense. Speaker Johnson said, “The One Big Beautiful Bill is a generational investment in American military might, and we need to get it to President Trump's desk as soon as possible." Click the photo below to watch Speaker Johnson's remarks. | At the same press conference, Speaker Johnson hosted Toni McAllister of Winn Parish, a small business owner, wife of a law enforcement officer, and the Executive Director of the Louisiana Logging Association, to share her support for the One Big Beautiful Bill and urge its immediate passage. Toni was also featured in a FOX News story, sharing how the One Big Beautiful Bill will directly impact her small business and family. Click the image below for more. | On Thursday, Speaker Johnson hosted a bipartisan Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony to honor the courage and contributions of the Army Rangers of World War II. The ceremony featured remarks from Speaker Johnson, Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Secretary Doug Collins, among other Congressional leaders and army personnel. Two Army Rangers who served in World War II, Sergeant Joseph Drake and Private First-Class John Wardell, accepted the medal on behalf of the living and deceased Army Rangers of the war.
