This week, the Trump administration’s cruelty met capitalism’s appetite and the Democratic establishment’s inertia. A Marine veteran’s wife was dragged into ICE custody during a breastfeeding appointment. Palantir insiders cashed in on a booming deportation market. And in New York, a 33-year-old Democratic Socialist shook up the party that keeps promising change — and but often keeps delivering Cuomo.

Meanwhile, the economy shrank for the second straight quarter, and Trump insists it’s “actually good.” (What’s a recession when you’ve got tariffs and vibes?) With a border crackdown as the backdrop and Big Tech holding the leash, the administration is turning policy into product — and protest into profit.

Welcome to The Lincoln Logue, your satirical digest of Trump’s America — proudly brought to you this week by the ICE Family Separation Starter Pack™. (Includes baby formula, a Zoom court date, and a copy of the Constitution with the 14th Amendment ripped out.)

Monday, June 23rd — ICE Rips Nursing Mother Away from Marine Vet

▌"Thank you for your service. Now hand over your wife."

Adrian Clouatre served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps. His wife Paola, who came to the country as a child seeking asylum, just wanted legal status. Instead, ICE arrested her at a green card appointment, ripping her from her newborn baby — who she was still breastfeeding — and throwing her in a detention center eight hours away. The arrest stemmed from a 2018 deportation order Paola never knew about, issued after her estranged mother missed a court date. For the crime of trying to “do the right thing,” the Clouatre family is now split, with Adrian bottle-feeding his 3-month-old daughter and explaining to his toddler, “Mama will be back soon.”

Once protected under policies that gave deference to military families, spouses like Paola are now targets. A February DHS memo scrapped exemptions that once shielded servicemembers’ relatives from deportation. Even recruiters who once pitched enlistment as a path to safety for undocumented loved ones are now being told to zip it — their promises are no longer policy. In a June 9 post clearly referencing the Clouatres, U.S. immigration authorities boasted, “The government has a long memory and no tolerance for defiance.” Welcome to Trump’s America, where mercy is a weakness and family unity is optional.

No one disputes that Paola’s case had paperwork complications — but discretion is dead. ICE waited for her at a government office, let her explain her pending appeal, then cuffed her anyway. Her husband, a disabled veteran, drives eight hours round-trip to see her in a rural Louisiana jail. He still believes in the country he served, but he’s starting to wonder what that service was for. In Trump’s second term, immigration isn’t just enforcement. It’s cruelty with a press release.
