One more example of how Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress hate Veterans.

FIRST:
In 2024, the Biden Administration started the VA Servicing Program — a mortgage assistance program of last resort for Veterans who have trouble making payments. The VA would purchase their loan, allow Veterans to renegotiate the terms, and find a payment plan that worked for them.


THEN:
Trump got elected. Republicans took back the House and the Senate. They told Veterans they’d have no greater friend.
And (surprise!) they cancelled VASP.


NOW:
Thousands of Veterans are at risk of losing their homes. Thousands more won’t have the help they need if they fall on hard times. All because Trump and the GOP wanted to save a quick buck by screwing over the men and women who serve.


This isn’t some rumor. It’s real. An excerpt from an NPR story:

“Henry, who lives outside Kansas City. Mo., fell behind on his mortgage after losing his job managing a manufacturing plant last October. And because of a move last month by the VA, vets like him with delinquent loans have far worse options than most other American homeowners who never served.

"My social media posts have not been nice to the director of the VA and have not been nice to Trump," Henry said. "And I voted for the guy!"

When you slash the VA, when you cut services to Veterans, this is what happens. It’s not just Democrats or Biden voters that get hurt — it’s Trump’s own voters, too.
