Justice for Cats Crushed Alive in Trash Compactor—Call to Refile Cruelty Charges
Dear Friend,
Nobody should be able to crush cats alive in a trash compactor and get away with it. Please, raise your voice with us right now.
On February 27, 2025, three now-former employees at Jayco RV in Elkhart County, Indiana, shoved two live cats into a microwave box, placed that box into a trash compactor, and used the compactor to crush them to death. Despite the profound brutality of these actions, the Elkhart County prosecuting attorney decided to drop all charges against the perpetrators.
Contact the Elkhart County prosecutor and commissioners and demand the immediate refiling of cruelty charges. ([link removed])
The prosecutors who made this shocking decision claim that the former employees’ actions are not animal cruelty under Indiana law. This is ludicrous and unacceptable.
Please join Alley Cat Allies and people throughout Indiana in calling for justice for these cats, whose lives were taken cruelly, painfully, and senselessly.
Contact Elkhart County prosecutors and commissioners and demand the immediate refiling of cruelty charges.
