My name is Jessica Cisneros. I ran for Congress against an establishment Democrat down here in South Texas earlier this year. Throughout my campaign, I saw how desperately people in my community needed bold, progressive change.

And even though I did not become the nominee in my race — I lost to my opponent by just 3.6% — I know that bold, progressive change isn't something that only my community needs. Communities all across our nation need new leadership — and in New York's 16th District, Jamaal Bowman is that someone who can bring bold, progressive change to his community.

Eliot Engel is a politician who is out-of-touch with his district, having to depend on a GOP-funded super PAC for donations. Jamaal is funded by the people because they believe he's the candidate that will fight tooth and nail for them.

Another similarity that Jamaal and I share is that we both received support from progressive champions like Elizabeth Warren, AOC, Bernie Sanders, and the Justice Democrats. But those endorsements mean nothing without your grassroots support to cross the finish line.

Jamaal has the momentum. Jamaal has the platform. Jamaal has the energy. Now, we have to work together to put this working-class champion in Congress. Let's leave it all on the field and put everything we have into making Jamaal Bowman our Democratic candidate for New York's 16th District.
