Avery was just 17 when he lost his arm to cancer. Shortly afterward, he learned he would receive a wish: to go to Hawaii and eat mangoes.
The anticipation of his wish got him through chemo and hospital stays. And when Avery was well enough, he found ten different kinds of mangoes waiting for him in his Hawaiian hotel room. He also found a fresh start.
