Dave Min for Congress

I’m the proud son of Korean immigrants.

I’m a public servant who got my start by tackling corporate fraud and corruption at the SEC.

And today, I’m honored to serve as the Congressman for California’s 47th Congressional District — an extremely competitive swing seat that I won by just 2 percentage points last November.

To be completely honest, this email is on the longer side. So if you’re in a hurry and you already know about who I am and what I’m fighting for, I hope you’ll consider chipping in to my campaign for re-election →

But if you don’t know much about me, I hope you’ll keep reading:

In 1972, my parents came to this country in search of their American Dream — to build a better life for themselves and their children. It wasn’t always easy for them, but they persevered. And I’m forever grateful for their sacrifices.

For years, I worked hard in school to make my parents proud. And after I graduated from law school, I was given a choice: Take a high-paying job on Wall Street, or fight corporate fraud at the SEC. I chose public service, and I’m thankful every single day that I did.

There, I worked as an enforcement attorney alongside the FBI to tackle corporate fraud and promote fairness and transparency. In other words, my job was to stick up for the little guy — a responsibility that I still uphold to this day.

Later on in my career, I taught law at UC Irvine. And just weeks after my wife, Jane, and I had welcomed our third child, Donald Trump was elected President.

Never in a million years did I imagine getting involved in politics. But after Trump’s hate, exclusion, and corruption quickly became apparent, I knew I had to take action.

So I protested in the streets. I talked to everyone I knew about the danger Trump posed to the rule of law. And in 2020, I ran for State Senate in a district that had never been represented by a Democrat. And I won.

In Sacramento, I fought for progress on the issues that matter most to Orange County families. I helped pass legislation to ban gun shows on California state property, authored legislation to end offshore oil drilling, offered support to small businesses during the height of the pandemic, protected survivors of domestic violence, defended reproductive freedom, and so much more.

And today, I’m proud to be fighting for those same priorities in Washington — so that my children, and children all across California, can inherit a world that is safe, clean, caring, and welcoming.

I believe in the American Dream because I’ve lived it. But right now, Donald Trump is determined to rip that dream away by spreading hate, hiking costs, and amassing power. So I’m fighting back.

If my story speaks to you, I hope you’ll chip in a donation to help me defend this toss-up district from MAGA Republicans. I know the road ahead won’t be easy, but with your help, I know we can win this fight for America’s future.
