Bald Eagle.
Soaring high above American rivers and coastlines, the Bald Eagle—our nation's emblem—embodies both power and resilience. Yet this majestic bird's story is far from simple. After facing a serious decline throughout much of the 20th century, Bald Eagles have staged one of conservation's greatest comebacks since the 1970s. Today, you can witness breathtaking concentrations of these birds wintering along rivers or reservoirs—a testament to our effective science-based conservation and advocacy.
But this year's State of the Birds report found that a full one-third of U.S. birds still need urgent conservation action. The best thing you can do in this moment is start an annual gift while your first gift will be matched for the birds you love. Make 2X the impact today >> ([link removed])

Birds are calling for our help—and with your support, we’ve been answering their call with action for 120 years. In 1960, amid alarming signs that the Bald Eagle—our nation's emblem—was in trouble, we launched the Continental Bald Eagle Project. The five-year cooperative research program enlisted federal, state, and provincial wildlife agencies, as well as local Audubon groups and ornithological societies, and revealed that DDT was largely responsible for declines among Bald Eagles and other raptors.
We couldn’t do this important work without people like you: people who care about birds and are ready to help. And right now, we need you more than ever. Please be the caring friend birds need today. Make your annual donation right away, while your first gift will be matched, up to $75,000. ([link removed])
