This is Maxwell Frost. John, no one expected someone like me to be elected to Congress. But against all odds, I’m here – and it’s important you understand how I got here.
This email is long, so if you don’t have a spare minute to read this all the way through, please consider chipping in a few bucks to my campaign and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee before our End of Quarter fundraising deadline so I can keep fighting for all of us in Congress.
I was raised in a working-class family. My mom was a public school teacher, and my dad was a working musician. They struggled through more broken systems – from underfunded schools, to outrageous healthcare costs, to juggling different jobs to pay the bills.
Even when I grew up and ran for Congress, I was a Gen Z working class kid – I didn’t have the same advantages that other candidates have. I drove for Uber and racked up credit card debt just to make ends meet during my campaign. Because of that, everyone counted me out.
But I was able to defy the odds by becoming a community leader, the National Organizing Director for March for our Lives, and the first member of Gen Z elected to Congress.
Now, I need you to help me defy the odds once again to stay in Congress. I’m determined to keep fighting for working-class folks, but I can’t do that without your grassroots support.
