Team: What we are witnessing is authoritarianism by the Trump Regime.
Since June 6, protesters have peacefully taken to the streets in Los Angeles in solidarity with Black and brown communities impacted by the Trump Regime’s attack on immigrants and diverse communities in general. The President has twisted and abused the concept of ‘national security’ to turn our own National Guard against U.S. residents.
Just a few days after, on June 12, a United States Senator, Alex Padilla, was forcibly removed, handcuffed, and detained for asking questions at a government press conference.
Then, on June 14, Donald Trump threw himself a military birthday parade that cost an estimated $25 million to $45 million — and promised that anyone who protested would be “met with very big force.”
As true catalysts for democracy, we know that force won’t fix what people are fighting for.
When people take to the streets to make their voices heard, it’s not a protest out of hate for our country. It’s a protest rooted in love for our communities and to fulfill the true promise of democracy.
Fair Fight believes in advancing, strengthening, and building up our democracy, and sometimes that means engaging in our First Amendment right to protest. From the streets to the ballot box, we protest with purpose and intention. Our power doesn’t stop at the polls — that’s exactly where it starts.
Our mission is grounded in the belief that a strong democracy demands more than just vigilance. It requires equitable access, education, and, most importantly, the power to organize, especially in the face of systemic barriers to voting and deliberate suppression efforts.
