John,

In just four days, Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) could decide whether to maintain critical protections that hold polluters accountable for toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in our drinking water.

Tell EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin: Maintain and defend critical PFAS protections that keep our communities safe! ([link removed])

The EPA, under Administrator Lee Zeldin, announced in May that it was eliminating enforceable limits for four of six regulated PFAS chemicals found in drinking water and delaying the effective date on maximum contaminant levels for the other two, PFOA and PFOS — moving us backward on regulating these toxic forever chemicals.

Nearly half of municipalities are estimated to have toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” in their water, thanks to greedy chemical companies that created these contaminants poisoning our water.

Now, the next decision is due from Zeldin in just a few days.

Take action: Express your outrage that Trump’s EPA rolled back PFAS protections for drinking water and demand they maintain and defend the remaining PFAS polluter-pay protections! ([link removed])

Toxic PFAS “forever chemicals” don’t readily break down on their own in the environment. They leach into our food, water, ecosystems, and even our bodies, causing numerous health issues, including low birth weight, cancer, and other harmful illnesses.

The Biden administration also put in place important rules to hold polluters accountable to help pay to clean up toxic PFOA and PFOS under the Superfund Law – but the chemical industry is suing to overturn the rules.

The EPA has a deadline next Wednesday to decide if it will defend these rules in court. This is a critical step to holding polluters accountable.

The EPA’s decision on whether to defend these rules comes at a time when public opinion on clean water has never been clearer – nobody wants to drink poisoned water.

Protect Drinking Water ([link removed])

The diseases and internal damage caused by PFAS in our water are preventable. The EPA must protect communities from these toxic substances in our water, not roll back important progress we’ve made toward safe water for our families.

Demand that EPA Administrator Zeldin uphold and defend PFAS protections that keep our communities safe. ([link removed])

Onward together,
