In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court just ruled that it’s constitutional for porn sites to be required to verify the age of its site users, to protect children from exposure.
Today’s ruling is one of the most significant breakthroughs in child protection since the internet was invented, setting a critical precedent not just for the US, but for countries worldwide.
Exodus Cry is honored to have provided essential information to the Supreme Court for this case via our 36-page amicus brief, which gave a detailed account of the abusive, criminal content found in today’s pornography.
In the court’s ruling, they referenced content from our very brief!
Since the advent of the internet, children have been preyed upon by porn distributors, and this has derailed far too many lives. (We’ve shared some of their stories on our site here.)
Thanks to your support, Exodus Cry has been intimately involved in this fight since before a single state had passed an age verification law.
The ruling comes almost four years to the day from when we launched the Protect Children Not Porn campaign (June 29, 2021), which we created specifically to advocate for required age verification on porn sites.
To everyone who signed our petition, donated, and raised your voice in support of age verification: well done!
Today is a day to celebrate a major win for America’s 74 million children.
We’re more committed than ever to seeing age verification laws be passed in all 50 states, and in countries worldwide.
