My father fled an oppressive Russian regime where speech was restricted, corruption was rampant, and propaganda was routine. He came to America with nothing but $759 in his pocket. He didn't speak a lick of English. And his first job was lugging furniture for $20 a day.
It is humbling, to say the least, for me to go from refugee to U.S. Representative.
But now, the freedoms that brought our family here are under threat again — this time from within.
I have the honor of serving Virginia's 7th Congressional District. This was an office held by Republicans for 50 years until my friend Abigail Spanberger flipped it back in 2018.
Now, she's running for Governor, and I'm running to defend our seat from MAGA extremism.
It all starts here in Virginia this November. If we win, Democrats gain the momentum to protect key seats like mine and take back the House. That's why I'm asking for your support today.
Will you contribute $25 or more to my campaign and Abigail Spanberger ahead of Monday's FEC deadline? Your gift will have double the impact by helping us flip Virginia blue in 2025 and take back Congress for Democrats in 2026.
