Email from Rep. Van Duyne I introduced legislation that will increase patient access to quality health care. Washington, D.C. – Enjoyed meeting with Tree Hut, a skincare brand founded in Coppell. They were recently in town with Walmart U.S. Manufacturing. With over 60% of Walmart’s U.S. suppliers being small businesses, Tree Hut is a great example of how the support of U.S. manufacturing drives success! Had a great chat with some North Texans with the Dallas Building Association, they were here in D.C. to discuss workforce development and housing affordability in the Dallas area. I had the chance to meet with doctors that were in town with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, including one from North Texas. We discussed their priorities, fixing Medicare physician payment cuts and reforming the prior authorization process. I joined 23 of my House colleagues in urging the reinstatement of HSA provisions from the House-passed One Big Beautiful Bill. These provisions are necessary to help Americans to be able to better afford healthcare services, creating a consumer-controlled market to drive competition, reducing the overall cost of healthcare. House Republicans are ready to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill! Click here or on the photo below to watch what we had to say about the bill. I introduced the Patient Access to Higher Quality Health Care Act of 2025, a bipartisan bill that will increase physician-owned hospitals and patient access to quality health care by eliminating needless regulations that prohibit physicians from owning and investing in medical facilities. Read more below in my Work of the Week. Great to see White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, on Wednesday at our Republican Study Committee meeting! We discussed the importance of the One Big Beautiful Bill. Thank you, Karoline, for delivering the facts to the American people every day! It was great to meet with some North Texans from AARP when they were visiting Washington for AARP on the Hill. AARP Texas has over 2.5 billion members living in the Lone Star State. We discussed family caregiving and the Social Security wait times across Texas. I was able to meet Carlos and his family, and they shared about his incredible journey to recovery and the great care he received at Children's Health Dallas. Carlos was even able to join me on the House floor to watch us vote. It was great to talk with members of the Global Business Alliance about the impact of foreign investment on Texas’ economy. I also shared insights from my work on the Ways and Means subcommittees for tax and trade. Today, with 23 of my House colleagues, we inquired about the status of defense measures for U.S. military installations, government buildings, and critical infrastructure from the threat of drones. This morning, we passed a resolution that condemns the violent riots in Los Angeles, California and the House expressed our support for law enforcement officers. Texas-24 Work of the Week This week, I announced the Patient Access to Higher Quality Health Care Act of 2025, it is a bipartisan bill that repeals limitations to the prohibition on certain physician referrals for hospitals, allowing physician-owned hospitals to expand or to be established. Texas-24 Hometown Hero This week's Texas-24 Hometown Hero is Richardson High School’s own, Cason Wallace, who recently added NBA Champion to his list of basketball successes.
