The Supreme Court just issued a decision that green-lights Trump’s attack on birthright citizenship and neuters the power of the federal judiciary to stop his fascist orders. Trump’s smug “victory lap” in the wake of this decision must be met with our determination to drive the Trump fascist regime out of power.
At this moment, as families are being ripped apart with immigrant parents and children being dragged off city streets by ICE gestapo, birthright citizenship could be suspended for most of the country for an indefinite period of time. The ability of federal courts to rein in Trump has been shattered.

This ruling means that fascist rule by executive decree – without any separation of powers – is off its leash. Now, the regime is not only free to implement its attack on birthright citizenship and turn thousands of children born to immigrants into a stateless underclass – but any of the regime’s orders on the rights and lives of whole peoples can go forward on an accelerated path.
This can only be stopped by the millions in this country who do not want to live in Trump’s fascist America – getting in the streets and demanding the removal of the regime. Waiting or believing this can be resolved in the courts or through elections more than a year away is normalizing and accommodating – and greasing the wheels to the consolidation of fascism. Our resistance must make a leap that overwhelms and prevents this regime from implementing its program or holding onto power.
