endorsed Kim Gardner and Victoria Burton-Harris running in St. Louis and
Detroit respectively!

These endorsements affirm what we already know to be true about these
advocates for reform: They are their county’s best opportunities to build
fairer justice systems.

Victoria is right when she says, “if we really want to end mass
incarceration, if we truly want to reform our broken criminal justice
system, we have to start with the gatekeeper and that is your elected
prosecutor.”

Wayne County, Detroit, is responsible for the largest number of wrongful
convictions in the state of Michigan. Victoria is running to change that
as Wayne County’s next County Prosecutor.

Kim Gardner is running to keep her seat as St. Louis Circuit Attorney. In
her tenure, Kim has reduced the average daily jail population by 39
percent without increasing the crime rate in St. Louis. And she has
increased police accountability by prosecuting officers who break the law
by refusing to rely on the testimony of officers accused of misconduct.
