Andy Beshear knows how to win tough elections — because he’s won three statewide races as a Democrat in deep-red Kentucky.

And now, he’s making sure Democrats across the country know how to do it too. At a gathering with Florida Democrats this past weekend, Andy laid out the four-part blueprint that helped him flip red counties and win statewide in a tough environment:

1️⃣ Focus on people’s daily lives. Talk about the issues families feel every day — jobs, schools, public safety, and healthcare. That’s the lane Democrats need to own.

2️⃣ Talk like a real person. Skip the sanitized language. People who are going through recovery use the word addiction, not substance use disorder. People who don’t have enough to pay for food say they are hungry, not food insecure. Connect from the heart.

3️⃣ Get dirt on your boots. Show up in every community. It isn’t enough to hold a bill-signing ceremony — be there when factories open, when new schools break ground, and where families gather.

4️⃣ Explain your why. Voters need to hear the values behind your decisions. For Andy, that means he leads with his faith. Every good candidate should lead with what drives them and needs to communicate that to voters.

It’s a strategy built on listening, focusing on fixing the challenges in people’s everyday lives, fighting to protect people’s basic rights, and refusing to write off any voter.
