Reports of a cultural “vibe shift” that’s afoot may or may not be accurate. I happen to think it’s real—and will be of great consequence.
The evidence is strong. A backlash against the excesses of the radical Left reverberates across our society. Young men are returning to church, thanks in large part to the work and ideas of FIRST THINGS writers. Whether it be a tale of religious conversion, insight into the appearance of God in popular media, or a measured critique of the vibe shift’s cardinal virtues, FIRST THINGS writers and editors are giving voice to what Gen Z is grappling with in our shared cultural landscape.
